What is Funny / Not Funny Records?
Funny / Not Funny Records is more like a family than a record label. At the head of this family tree are two friends from Harrisonburg, VA., Ben and Harper, who handle all logistics for the label. Our mission is to develop strong personal relationships with bands as we branch out and grow. We believe extraordinary, hard working bands deserve quality releases, readily available to the world through the internet, and independent record stores. To celebrate this belief we capture the music and culture we are immersed in on analog mediums for others to enjoy. We're new, but so far so good.
Where can I buy your releases?
You can visit our online store for past and current releases, pre-orders on upcoming releases, assorted releases by bands we've working with from other labels, and digital downloads from bands on, and friends of, the label.
What's the deal with pre-orders?
The F/NF store will exclusively carry pre-orders for all of our upcoming releases. Generally we try and bundle the release with something extra special for those of you who are excited enough to order the release ahead of time (posters, editioned covers, bonus digital downloads, mix tapes, etc). Pre-orders will always ship a few days before standard orders. Please remember that if you're ordering multiple releases, we wait to ship all items in one box, so that we keep the shipping cost down for everyone.
I live in your area, can I pick my record up to save on shipping?
If you live Harrisonburg, VA, and would prefer to pick up your releases and waive the shipping fee, please go ahead and check out in the store, pay the postage fees, but include a note to us in your order (or send us an email externally from our store) that you'd like to pick up your records. We'll be happy to refund your money within two business days of your order.
Will you release my record?
We have most of our releases picked out for quite some time. That said, we'd be happy to listen to your band. You’re more than welcome to email us your band’s material as a link or a zip file. We appreciate you taking the time to send us something, generally though, we’ll probably struggle to get back to you in a timely fashion. Please do not be offended! We listen to everything we receive.
Do you ship to my country?
Yes. Please choose the "Everywhere Else" option in the shipping options drop down menu if you live anywhere other than the U.S. or Canada.
I want to buy wholesale.
Please send us an email for a price list. If you'd like to be added to the mailing list for distro updates, send us an email with the subject line, "Distro List".
I want to review your releases, interview you or your bands, play your releases at my radio station, or use one of your songs for video.
